Grapefruit Margarita Recipe
The grapefruit margarita has all the goodness of the grapefruit in it. This fruit is a rich source of vitamin C and fiber and the red and pink colors contain antioxidants. The grapefruit is known to lower the cholesterol and even the seeds contain antioxidants. The fruit also has a low glycemic quality which increases the capability of the metabolism of the body to burn fat.
Ingredients required for grapefruit margarita:
• Crosswise slices of ruby red grapefruit
• Ice cubes
• Fresh lime juice
• Ruby red grapefruit juice – fresh or from carton
• Syrup
• Ruby red vodka
• Tequila
• Kosher coarse salt
• Wedge ruby red grapefruit
Quantities required for 6 glasses of margarita
• 2 slices of ruby red grapefruit cut crosswise into quarters
• 4 cups of ice cubes
• ¼ cup lime juice which is freshly squeezed
• 1 cup of ruby red grapefruit juice
• ¼ cup syrup
• 1/3 cup of ruby red vodka
• 6 ounces of tequila
• 1 wedge of ruby red grapefruit
• Some coarse kosher salt
Method of making the grapefruit margarita
Put all the ingredients like the ice cubes, fresh lime juice, grape fruit juice, simple syrup, vodka and tequila into a bar blender and blend until the puree is smooth. Prepare the margarita glasses. For this rub the rims of the glasses with a wedge of the ruby red grapefruit and then place it on to the coarse salt which is put on a plate or paper. The coarse salt now sticks to the wet rims of the glasses.
