Albuquerque-Style Margarita Recipe

A lemony afternoon cocktail which is sipped from refreshing tall glasses and filled with ice cubes, gives the perfect cooling affect on a hot summer afternoon. This is a real thirst quencher and is packed with vitamin C which gives it that extra zing. The ingredients for this drink are lime peel, ice cubes, grapefruit or lime soda, triple sec, lime concentrate which is frozen, coarse salt and a few extra wedges of lime.

Quantities of the ingredients required for 4 drinks of Albuquerque-Style Margarita:

 Lime peels for the garnish
 Twists of lime for the garnish
 4 cups of ice cubes
 12 ounces of grape fruit soda or canned lemon lime
 ¾ cup of tequila
 6 ounces of canned lime concentrate frozen
 Kosher or coarse salt
 Wedges of one lime
Method of putting together this cooling tangy drink

Place some of the course salt on a paper. The lime wedges should be rubbed on the rim of each of the glasses and then the rims should be turned onto the coarse salt, so that they are coated with this salt. The ingredients should be divided into two portions and one portion should be put into a blender and blended until the ice is crushed to a fine and slushy mixture. The mixture should then be poured in to the tall glasses. Repeat the same procedure with the remaining half of the ingredients and top up the glasses. Garnish the glass rimes with a wedge or peel of lime.

There is no fat content in this drink, just a little bit of carbohydrates and it is rich in vitamin C.
